Famous for the Mardi Gras Parade held here every year, Oxford St is also known for its shopping, places to eat and its nightlife. Stretching from the south side of Hyde Park to Bondi Junction, two other significant places are the parks along the road, Moore Park and Centennial Park.

The side streets are also an attraction. As such, you will find a diverse groups of people here, during the daytime and in the evening.

One of the attractions to this area are the many specialist shops, trendy galleries, antique shops and the speciality clothes stores. Find what you want from the latest fashions and accessories, to recycled retro and street designer clothing.

Booklovers will delight at the many late closing book stores here. One, aptly named ‘The Bookshop’, at 207 Oxford Street, has been open for over twenty years specialising in GLBT books and magazines, including the latest releases - as well as DVDs.
