One of the last truly untouched places to visit by our growing world population, Cape York Peninsula covers an area equal to the size of Great Britain.
This region, lush and tropical, has great beaches and lush rainforest national parks. The Great Barrier Reef can be visited from places like Cairns.
Daintree National Park is famed for its beauty. Many of the islands off the Queensland Coast are worth visiting, including Dunk Island, Green Island and Hinchinbrook.
The rains, when they come in November to March, make the area lush, while in the dry seasons, dry and arid.
