Eurobodalla, south of Sydney on the far South Coast, is known for rugged peaks and lush green forests, acting as a backdrop against the many sheltered coves, headlands jutting against the sea, golden sandy beaches and crystal clear waters.

Batemans Bay

Batemans Bay, a fishing town has great beaches nearby and a beautiful estuary. Birdlands has a chance for you to handle wombats, snakes, and to see Australian animals and birdlife.

Batemans Bay is the gateway to the stunningly beautiful Eurobodalla and Deua National Parks. Moruya also has very exclusive beaches nearby and takes its history seriously, with many historic buildings, built from stones sourced from the Moruya granite quarry in the 1800s.

Nelligen, on the Clyde River, just inland from Batemans Bay is a charming historic township also worth exploring.

Central Tilba

Central Tilba, an artisan town where artists, wood turners and leather craftsmen practice their trades. Great shopping for bargains!

Tilba Tilba has the Foxglove Spire Gardens.

Murramang National Park, surrounding Dumas Lake, is beautiful coast area with gum and rainforests as well as beaches.

 

Narooma NSW

The seaside town of Narooma has retained its charming fishing village atmosphere. This part of the Eurobodalla Nature Coast has numerous estuaries and ocean beaches for fishing. Plenty of surf at the beaches, there is excellent diving available and Aboriginal Culture, Art and Heritage to explore. You can also try one of the cruises available to see this wonderful part of the South Coast, even go whale, seal or dolphin spotting in their habitat. There is a thriving cafe culture and good restaurants with a number of pubs and clubs to entertain you into the night.

Mount Dromedary dominates the village. Off the coast near Narooma is Montague Island Nature Reserve. Humpbacks and increasingly Orcas and Southern Whales come to frolic, if it could be called that, in the waters there. Montague Island itself is a sanctuary haven for sea birds, seals and penguins.

Mogo Zoo

At Mogo, you will find some interesting attractions. Mogo Zoo specialises in breeding endangered and rare species from around the world and has them on display. There is also Old Mogo Town, an 1850s Gold Rush Theme Park and you can pan for gold yourself on a goldfields tour at the seaside village of Tomakin.

 

Eurobodalla Tours and Cruises

Charter fishing is available at places like Batemans Bay and Narooma. You can also take an adventure tour with a National Parks guide or take a cruise around Montague Island.

South Coast Weather

Experience Aboriginal Culture and visit Koori sites with Umbarra Cultural Tours at Tilba. For the family, there are Goldfield tours at Tomakin and there is a historical tour of Moruya.

You can hire boats or jet skis at various places along the NSW coast, even learn to surf at one the many stunning beaches found on the South Coast.
