The Sydney Opera House is situated at Bennelong Point, named after an Aboriginal who helped the settlers in the early years. Woollarawarre Bennelong was originally captured, since the people that inhabited this part of Sydney, the Eora, deliberately avoided contact with the new settlers. He later escaped, yet came back to continue to associate with them as a free man.
