Pambula Beach on the NSW South Coast

Pambula Beach, on the South Coast of New South Wales is popular with visitors during the summer months, many come here to enjoy fishing, surfing, long walks and exploring the nearby National Parks in the region.

The beach itself, extending for about a quarter of a kilometre, has regular visits from Kangaroos early in the mornings and dusk to enjoy the ambience, feed, relax and maybe even to check out the surf.

The beach extends to the north to the mouth of Pambula River and then to Merimbula. Just north of the Ben Boyd National Park, Pambula Beach is near Merimbula on the Sapphire Coast. North of the Victoria border, see the location on the map: South Coast NSW Map.

 

Ben Boyd National Park

Covering more than 10,000 hectares, Ben Boyd National Park is located on the coast and split into two sections, the northern part being just south of Pambula Beach while the larger section is south of Eden, near Boydtown. There are great views of the coast from the park.

The park is inhabited by over two hundred bird species, including the Eastern Ground Parrot, the Eastern Bristlebird and the Little Tern. There are also some fifty mammal species found in the park.

Places to Visit

Other places well worth visiting near here on the South Coast include Mogo, an old gold mining town, the historical town of Central Tilba, the Mimosa National Park and beautiful Jervis Bay, further to the north along the coast.
