Kings Cross has gained a reputation for being cosmopolitan, in many ways it reflects bigger the inner suburb of much bigger world class cities than the rest of New South Wales. You can find some great restaurants here!
You might want to book ahead, as the places to eat on this list get very busy on weekends. Or arrive early.
Below are some of our favourite places to eat in the main and side streets and offshoots of Kings Cross, including Potts Point:
Kings Cross
Friggitoria
Farmhouse Kings Cross
Harajuku Gyoza Potts Point
Parsons Bar & Kitchen
New Hampton
Caffe Roma
Friggitoria
Reasonably priced yet very tasty Italian street food with claims to some of the best pasta found in the country. Friggitoria is an unassuming and kinda small place, yet the food is out of this world with consistent ratings.
Similar to some modern restaurants that you can find in Europe, delivering great tasting food in a fast food atmosphere. The ability to BYO wine make this place even better.

Farmhouse Kings Cross
Being a top rated Sydney restaurant, it would be very wise to book if you wish to dine at the Farmhouse, located in Kings Cross. With only limited seating, the food here is consistent and delicious with a set menu that is half changed every two weeks i.e. in four weeks, the menu is completely changed. Sharing is encouraged, making for a home style meal in an intimate setting. Be prepared for an amazing dining experience...

Harajuku Gyoza Potts Point
Like other traditional Japanese restaurants, you can see the chefs at work in the kitchen. They serve great gyoza as their name implies, crescent-shaped dumplings that come filled with a minced stuffing and either steamed, poached or grilled. Delicious!
They also do traditional authentic side dishes (also vegetarian) to accompany the gyoza as well as salads. All designed, as they say, to satisfy even the most hungy salaryman in a Japanese izakaya!

Parsons Bar & Kitchen
Another cosy Kings Cross restaurant with great reviews is Parsons, located on Kellett Street in the heart of Potts Point. Using fresh ingredients from local sources that are in season. Their smallish menu makes for a great meal.
From their hand cut Chips (French Fries to some) to their mains, you will find a tasty choice. Their Parson’s Beef Burger never goes out of style, while those seeking a more substantial meal should try the Moroccan Lamb Shank or the Mussels a la Salsa. All very reasonably priced!

The New Hampton
The New Hampton is actually housed in the oldest hotel in Kings Cross. Also reasonably priced, the food here is inspired by Italian and French influences but certainly not limited to that. In fact the meals are not only tasty, but well thought out.
They have food to share as well as some great signature dishes, including the Posh Parmy, a homemade schnitzel topped with mushrooms, parmesan and Mozzarella. They also do specialised dishes for foodies, as well as for kids and light eaters.

Caffe Roma
Last on this list but certainly not least, is the Caffe Roma. Serving authentic Italian cuisine, it is one of Sydney’s oldest and well established Italian restaurants. Using only the best and freshest ingredients their dishes are lovingly crafted into delicious classic masterpieces.
Their antipasti are well and truly examples of their classic authenticity in their dishes, as are their pastas and pizzas. You will also find their mains generous as you would when you come over for dinner with a traditional Italian family.
